PICTURE DAY RETAKES
NOVEMBER 15, 2018
Everyone should have received their school picture packets a few weeks ago. If you're not happy with how the photos turned out, you have another shot at it! Simply send in the complete photo packet with your child on November 15 and they can retake their photo. (Be sure to keep your class photo!) It's most helpful if you can include a small note indicating what you did not like about the photo, especially if it's not obvious, so we can try to avoid it happening again.
SKYDOME PLANETARIUM ASSEMBLY
NOVEMBER 16, 2018
We're taking our students on a 45-minute journey through the universe from the comfort and security of our own school. The portable, inflatable SkyDome planetarium will come right to our multi-purpose room and dazzle our budding astronomers as they are taken on a tour of the solar system. Students will enter the dome and be introduced to a "star filled" sky. A navigator with the use of a digital planetarium projector and a laser pointer, will guide students through the stars of the Northern Hemisphere exactly as they appear on the day of the presentation. Students will learn how to identify every planet in our solar system in dramatic "flights" towards each world. They will be introduced to Greek mythological characters and see how these heroes of the past can be found in the stars. Students will witness the night sky in different seasons and from different global perspectives.
*Please note, children will need to take their shoes off and must be wearing socks to enter the SkyDome Planetarium.

HOLIDAY GIFTING IS AVAILABLE ONLINE
CLOSES NOVEMBER 19
Let the East Brook PTO help check something off of your list this Holiday Season!
Using the PTO website, families are able to gift whatever amount they’d like to any Staff Members they choose, including all teachers (homeroom and specials), building staff (office, aides, custodians) and other school helpers (crossing guards). The PTO will then purchase a TD Bank Visa Gift Card for each Staff Member with the total amount being gifted to them. Each Staff Member will receive a personal Holiday card that includes a list of families that contributed to their Holiday gift.
The Holiday Gifting forms will be available online until Monday, November 19. This gives our PTO elves plenty of time to tally the gift for each recipient, purchase the gift cards and create the special Holiday cards with families' names for distribution just before the school holiday.
