PTO MEETING ADDED TO CALENDAR

We'd like to thank everyone who was able to attend the first PTO Meeting of the 2018/2019 school year.  And we'd like to give a special welcome the New Families that joined us!  We had a great turn-out and appreciate everyone's participation and enthusiasm.

For anyone who was unable to attend the meeting (and as a reference for those who were), the Meeting Minutes have been posted to the Meetings and Records page of the PTO website. 

Due to the number and nature of topics still open for discussion, we have determined that another meeting is necessary between this first meeting and the November 28 meeting.  In order to address time-sensitive topics in a timely manner, we will host another regular PTO meeting on October 16, to include the items below among other business.  A full meeting agenda will be posted the morning of the meeting.

Proposed Amendments to By-Laws

Mr. Stokes proposed amendments to our existing Bylaws, specifically related to the 6th Grade - including removing the roles of Class Parents to be replaced with a 6th Grade Parent Committee and moving the management of the 6th Grade Account under the purview of the PTO.  Please click here for a copy of the By-Laws with the proposed amendments highlighted (pages 5 & 7). The amendments will be discussed and voted upon during the October 16 meeting.

Brainstorming Projects

The 2018/2019 PTO Budget allocates $18,000 to be invested in school improvements this year.  A few ideas were presented at the meeting (refer to the Meeting Minutes for details).  The PTO Board and Mr. Stokes will be discussing the funding of these projects (BOE and/or PTO), gathering further information and pricing, and working through the details to create formal proposals for membership's consideration.

Indoor Recess Enhancements
Pavement/Walkway around the School

If anyone is interested in working on these projects/proposals, or if you have new ideas for how we can utilize this funding, please reach out to the PTO Board.  All projects will be discussed at the October 16 meeting, with the goal of voting for approvals at the November 28 meeting.
