PRESENTING THE NOMINEES
The East Brook School PTO is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization with the objective to promote the well-being of students, foster a closer relationship between home and school, develop mutually acceptable efforts between the principal and the PTO membership, and provide funding for such purpose.
In order for this organization to exist, Board members/officers are elected among members to maintain the bank account, interpret its bylaws, and commit to being responsible for the workings of the organization. These officers are unpaid volunteers, who choose to dedicate their time and energy to the continued work of the PTO.
By May 20, the PTO Board received a single nomination for each of the following positions:
Lauren Capilli for Co-President, 2 year term
Janine Ingala for Co-President, 1 year term
Sharon Browne for Treasurer, 2 year term
We would like to thank these individuals for stepping up and offering to serve our membership. These nominees ran unopposed.
At this time, no new nominee stepped forward for the VP of Cultural Affairs. Janja Bussanich, currently in this position and whose term ends June 30, has offered to remain in the role until a successor can be determined in the upcoming school year.
To comply with the state mandated quarantine and elect board members for the upcoming term, we had previously announced that we would open a remote ballot on our website on Wednesday, May 27. Since there is only one nominee for each of these positions, that no longer is necessary. As stated in our bylaws, Article V Section 1, "If there is but one (1) nominee for any office, it shall be in order to move that the secretary cast the elective ballot of the organization for the nominee." This concludes the election process.
