A Wonderful Author Visit with Wendy Mass!
East Brook had the amazing opportunity to welcome bestselling author Wendy Mass for an inspiring and engaging school-wide assembly. From start to finish, Wendy connected beautifully with our students—sharing her writing journey, creative process, and the importance of sticking with an idea even when it gets tricky.
She also introduced her newest book, The Planet, the Portal, and a Pizza, giving students an exciting sneak peek into the story and how it came to life. The kids loved hearing where her ideas come from and how she builds her characters and worlds.
The assembly was full of thoughtful questions, big smiles, and tons of inspiration. Wendy reminded our students that everyone has a story to tell and that writing is a skill you grow with practice. A big thank-you to Books & Greetings in Northvale for helping bring this experience to our school, and of course to Wendy Mass for spending the morning with us and sparking so much creativity and excitement around reading!

High Touch High Tech Science Brings Hands-On Learning to East Brook!
Our Kindergarten and 4th grade students had an exciting visit from High Touch High Tech Science, and the day was all about hands-on exploration. The instructors brought science to life through interactive activities that encouraged students to touch, observe, experiment, and discover.
Both grade levels were fully engaged as they worked through each hands-on station, building curiosity and confidence while exploring real scientific concepts in fun, accessible ways. The energy in the rooms was incredible—kids were inspired, enthusiastic, and eager to learn more.
We love offering experiences like this that make science meaningful, memorable, and truly enjoyable for our students!

A Meaningful and Memorable First Veterans Day Assembly at East Brook
This year, East Brook held its very first Veterans Day Assembly, and it was a truly special and unforgettable experience. Our school community came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and the morning was filled with gratitude, pride, and heartfelt appreciation.
Students listened respectfully as our visiting veterans shared their experiences and reflected on the importance of service. Their stories—full of courage, sacrifice, and resilience—left a powerful impression on everyone in the room. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn directly from the heroes who protect our freedoms.
The assembly included thoughtful tributes, student participation, and moments that genuinely moved the entire audience. You could feel the sense of respect and connection as students welcomed our guests, asked meaningful questions, and expressed thanks in their own words.
We are so grateful to the veterans who took time to join us and share their stories. For our first year hosting this event, it was everything we hoped it would be—a meaningful tradition we look forward to continuing for years to come.
